Mentoring with Joanne
How to navigate change and reinvention after unexpected life changes.
When something in life happens unexpectedly, it can be very disorientating — and it forces you to become a whole different version of yourself. You have to relearn who you are, and who this new version of you is.
Mentoring with me gives you space to make sense of what's changed, work out how you want things to look now, and start taking steps towards it.

Does this sound familiar?
The life you're living doesn't feel like yours.
Mentoring isn't only for women, and it isn't for people in crisis. It's for anyone navigating unexpected change who's ready to think honestly about what comes next.
- 01The life you're living doesn't feel like yours, so you know something needs to change.
- 02You don't relate to the people you used to, because you've changed.
- 03It feels lonely, because nobody around you seems to understand what you're going through.
- 04Stepping into the unknown feels scary when you're doing it alone.
But you're ready
Ready to figure this out now.
- →You know there's more out there for you — you're just not sure what yet.
- →You're ready to figure this out now, and to take action.
- →You want to feel supported and reassured.
- →You want help figuring out the next steps.
- →And for somebody to just understand.
I understand
I know what it feels like when nobody around you understands you. I get it.
I help you navigate these changes, and together we work through how you want things to look now — and how we can get you there.
You don't have to do it alone.
The mentoring journey
Four themes, at your pace.
1
Process change
Make sense of what has happened and acknowledge the reality of where you are now — without rushing past it.
2
Rebuild identity
Explore who you are now, what matters to you and what you want to carry forward into the next chapter.
3
Find direction
Identify priorities, possibilities and decisions that reflect your own values rather than other people's expectations.
4
Move forward
Turn insight into practical next steps, review how they're going and adjust as you learn.
The framework
The Boarding Pass Method™
The four themes above sit inside a framework I've developed from my own experience of unexpected change and reinvention. I call it The Boarding Pass Method™: five stages that help you move from where you are to where you want to be, without pretending the journey is tidy.
It's my own approach, shaped by lived experience — not an accredited or clinical programme. It gives our conversations structure while leaving room for your life to be your life.
How I work
I bring lived experience, thoughtful questions, honest conversation and a practical focus on what comes next.
We don't always get to choose the circumstances that change our lives. But we can begin exploring how we want to respond — and what we'd like to create from here.
Please note: mentoring is not therapy, counselling or professional medical, legal or financial advice, and it isn't a substitute for any of them. If you need clinical support, please speak to a qualified professional.
Kind words
Thank you for our conversation. You really made me see I have more value than I thought, and that is a powerful shift for me. You made me see that other people also value what I am doing, which gives me new found energy to keep going. I have learned I need to get outside of my own head and think bigger, which is something I never realised. You made me feel less alone, which is a powerful thing. You are a powerful woman and I really loved our conversation, which held a lot of value.
Yesterday I was fortunate to work with Joanne on her “Ready for more” workshop. As expected, Joanne created a safe and relaxed environment, and I had no hesitation in sharing my life with her. The Boarding Pass Method is clear and easy to understand, as it is broken down into stages — knowing Joanne has lived this makes it more credible. I walked away with more direction, knowing there was work to do but having a clearer idea where to start. If you have thought about doing this workshop, I recommend it, as it will give you some valuable insight and a way forward.
