Why I'm writing it
I didn't set out to write a memoir. I set out to survive a year that took nearly everything apart.
Breakdown to Boarding Pass is where I write it all down — honestly, and as it happens. Losing my daughter. The breaking point that followed years later. Closing my business, losing my home, and letting go of a life and a houseful of belongings I'd gathered over four decades.
Then: a suitcase, a series of flights and an uncertain next chapter that I'm still in the middle of. It's not a story with a bow on top. It's the real thing, written for anyone who has ever wondered how you start again when you didn't ask to.
What you'll find
Honest chapters
The memoir itself, written as it happens — grief, upheaval and what came after.
Notes from the road
What travelling with one suitcase actually teaches you, and what it doesn't.
Thinking out loud
Reflections on identity, judgement, midlife and making a life that fits.

The companion guide
The memoir is the why. The guide is the how.
Alongside the memoir I've written Breakdown to Boarding Pass: How to Fund your Freedom — a practical guide to funding the change the memoir describes. If the memoir is the why, this is the how.
It's a PDF, delivered straight to your inbox as soon as it's yours.
